The Add New Hot Key dialog presents three combo boxes that need to be set in the order from top to bottom. For illustration purposes, let us assume you want to define a hot key sequence to activate Unicode charset.
Purpose combo box:
This box allows you to select an action for the hot key you want to define, say, Select Charset.
Use hot key sequence:
This combo box displays all the hot keys that are unused and are available for you to choose. For example, you can choose Ctrl-Ctrl-4 for Unicode because it is character set #4 in the Main control panel.
To Choose:
This combo box displays the detailed option that accompanies the selection you have selected in the "Purpose" combo box:
OK button
If you are happy with the hot key definition, then click OK. This will add the new hot key sequence to the table of hot keys.
Cancel button
Click Cancel if you want to discard this hot key sequence definition.
